Harlyn Bay

Harlyn Bay is the quintessentially beautiful Cornish beach. A wide bay of soft golden sand stretching three quarters of a mile behind sheltering cliffs and flanked by rock pools, it has something to offer the whole family. The award winning beach is great for sand castles, swimming, snorkelling and surfing. There is safe and easy access from the car park for the whole family. It is completely dog friendly along its whole length for the whole year.

Water sports are well catered for on the beach, and it is a popular destination for canoeists, fishing enthusiasts and those who enjoy board sports. Harlyn surf school is based on the beach and they will help Improve your board skills whether it’s as a beginner or expert surfer. Beside the beach is the Harlyn Inn and the mobile cafe ‘Food for thought’ for essential beach provisions, drinks, hot and cold foods as well as a great selection of local ice creams.

If you want to visit another beach, a short walk on either side of Harlyn bay will take you to Trevone or Mother Ivy’s bay, both of which offer secluded and sandy beaches. In the distance there is great view of Gulland Rock, a small island which is home to  a variety of wildlife, including seals which occasionally visit the beach.

Whether you like relaxing or being active, you will find something for you on this idilic beach.
